Sermon John: 17:20-26
Once again, I would like to thank each oblate for your loving concern, support, cooperation and prayers. I also thank God for his love and grace upon me and being chosen as oblate.
We are oblates of Mary Immaculate, By birth it our nature to mission and to be missionary anywhere in the world. Preface: “Faced with such a deplorable situation”. This deplorable situation, First, God faced himself and Jesus Christ faced as well, he paid for this situation. Deplorable situation in the church is not completely solved, this situation is turning into new faces according to the signs of the times. We the oblates now in this situations are set apart, ready to leave everything but to live in Jesus Christ. We can also reproduce ourselves into a new life, we can die but reborn and selflessly give our love for the people in this Jubilee year. We can do our mission person to person, situation to situation and place to place, mission in our community not to make a deplorable situation but a peaceful situation. We need peaceful situation because we go as messenger to the deplorable situation.
Center of Our mission is Jesus Christ and cross of Him. Where ever, We go not without Christ and his cross. So I am also not exceptional, what our ancestor did, I merely follow them with Christ and cross.
Our mission is not without church and crying people. We are in the church and in mission for crying need of the people. Maybe there is no crying and poor people in Germany but can be poor with many faces. Whatever faces of the poor anywhere in the world, we are close to the people! For I need strength, your prayers and cooperation.
Finally, our mission is not without Mother Mary. Wherever we go we carry her. In our joys and sorrows of our Missionary life, we feel close to her.
Last one but not the least. Today, together in our community, we celebrate birthday of our beloved oblate brother, Rupok Dominic. With full heart, wish a happy Birthday. He is a good and simple man, generous and kind heart. Brilliant, intelligent and hard working. We thank God for the gift of such a nice man in our community. We assure our prayers to you. Thank you!
Dear Oblate fathers,
The call of Jesus Christ, heard within the Church through people’s need for salvation, draws us together as Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Christ thus invites us to follow him and to share in his mission through word and work.
Dear Oblate brothers,
we all are born in a nuclear family, in particular society or space, Now we are born in an extended family, where there are many colours, race, culture and society, We are now no more for particular but for unlimited. As member of Oblates of Mary immaculate we have no boundary for word and work. As I go to Germany, I am not going as an orphan and without family. I am going there as son of living parents and living family.
People of German are practicing one thousand years of faith in Jesus Christ. So I am there no one to speak about faith, but it is a new face of evangelization being in a community with many nations and cultures. I need your prayers and blessing sothat I can face this new face of evangelization, in fact we are all facing this new face of evangelization.
Finally I thank God for my Oblate vocation. I would express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to each oblate, D. superior, counselors for forming me as oblate, thank you for prayers, supports and love.
Thank you!
