Jubilee of Fr. Dipok, OMI

Introduction

With great immense, We express our gratitude and thank almighty God for the gift of Fr. Dipok Costa, OMI who is celebrating 25 years of professed religious life.  25 years of Jubilee in professed life in the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, is a great occasion of thanksgiving and celebration for Fr. Dipok, with gratitude and glory to God.  We thank Fr. Dipok Costa, OMI who has served 25 Years in the Oblates of Mary Immaculate as Oblate.   A Jubilee is a time for looking back and looking forward. The book of Leviticus depicts the spirit of Jubilee, as an occasion of grateful remembrance of the past events; of rejoicing for the graces received; of recognition of God’s faithfulness. Dear Rev. Father the journey of 25 years is not simply journey through a string of days and years. Rather your journeys have been surrounded and intertwined by the intimacy and a relationship, mystery and secret growth. Your journeys have been fulfilling and demanding, risky and exciting. They have been filled with losses and gains, replete with joys and sorrows and in all these the God who called and consecrated you was always with you, enabling you to live the spirit of your consecration and so sing out the glories of the Lord. Dear Father, joining you in this silver occasion we are filled with the sense of jubilation, joy and gratitude. Congratulations dear Father for this unique milestone.

God’s divine power has given you everything you need to live a truly religious life through the knowledge of the one who has called you to share in His glory and goodness. St. Paul tells us – God can do much more in us than we can ask or imagine. We are only asked to be there and ever greater things will be done through us. God has done wonderfully well through you by the zeal of mission that you had and even today you continue to be the hands, feet and heart of Christ in the world.

On December 8, we honor Mary, our Mother. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is  Mary's conception without sin. Mother Mary is our Mother, our Patroness and our congregation name is after her, Oblates of Mary Immaculate. We place ourselves to Mother Mary and Very Specially Fr. Dipok Costa, OMI.

With the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from 8 December 2020, to 8 December 2021. We are also concluding the year of St. Joseph today in our community.  We have prayed to him and received blessing from him. May St. Joseph always be with us in missionary journey.

We are also celebrating the Centenary Birthday  of  the Father of the Nation. Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman  and 50 Golden Jubilee of Independence. We pray for all martyrs who died for our country may grant them eternal rest, and pray for our country sothat all the citizens may live peacefully with the bond of love and fraternity.

Now let us thank and glorify God and joyfully participate in the Holy Eucharist
