Subject: An Application for First Obedience.

Dear Father,

Greetings to you in the Lord! I am Deacon ........................., OMI, from the Delegation of Bangladesh. I have completed my Philosophical studies and finish my Theological studies this December at National Seminary Dhaka. I have made my Perpetual Profession on the 17th of April, 2009 and was ordained a Deacon on the 27th June, 2009 in Dhaka. I am doing my Diaconate ministry besides my Theological studies in the Scholasticate.

I would like to inform you that the date for my Priestly Ordination is fixed for 05th February, 2010. I appreciate and thank God for having called me to this Oblate way of life. I also express my sincere gratitude to the Delegation of Bangladesh, to the Provincial and especially to you, for your constant love and supports for me. I cordially invite you to be present at my ordination and impart your blessing for me on that joyful occasion.  I am happy as an Oblate and I express my desire to be ordained as an Oblate Priest in order to follow more closely the footsteps of our beloved founder St. Eugene de Mazenod.

I am aware that the Congregation Oblates of Mary Immaculate is the missionary congregation. Before asking for the first obedience, I would like to inform you that I was in South Korea during my regency period. Within these two years I had a chance to be with the Oblate fathers who are working there. Before going there I was told that it is the preparatory period for me to be a missionary in South Korea, North Korea and in China after my ordination. I experienced the need of the Oblates there. As I experienced, the reality was not easy but very challenging. Knowing everything, I would like to express my willingness to be a missionary in South Korea.

Father, it does not mean that I am not flexible to my own delegation and to other countries. I will try to bloom wherever you plant me. I am ready to accept any kind of obedience that comes from you. Here I express some of the fields in which I am interested to work as an Oblate. I desire to be missionary, Parish and Sacramental ministry, School ministry and Youth Ministry. As a missionary whatever is entrusted to me, I will be happy to accept it as a obedience from God. So dear Father, please grant the first obedience to whatever place you choose according to the needs. Finally I sincerely thank you and the Oblates for all your kind love and support. I request your humble prayers, so that I may carry out properly my religious and priestly obligations. May God bless you!

Sincerely Yours,

                                                                                               15th September, 2009.
